There are a few reasons why Parental Alienation occurs during a divorce and domestic disputes. One reason is simply to gain custody of a child and to exclude the father from any involvement in the child’s life. In other cases, the mother or father wants to start a new life and wants more money and assets than is entitled to and uses the children as pawns. Mother’s who alienate also need to provide the children with some sort of validation of leaving a dedicated husband and father when she is having an affair. Why do mothers or any parent for that matter use Parental Alienation? Because it is effective, and the courts don’t know how to deal with it.
